Cost of Crushed Concrete – Factors That Influence Its Cost

Average Cost of Crushed Concrete Installation in Groom by Professionals. The cost of Crushed Stones in Groom can be a major concern for Contractors. The cost of installing crushed stones in your landscape will depend on the type of stone you purchase and its grade. The grade and type of stone will dictate its cost and the most expensive cost of crushed concrete in the market is granite.

The cost of crushed concrete in Groom is $0.60 to $1.10 per ton. Always remember to make certain that the contractor is covered, bonded and insured before and during the installation. If you are in need of more information on this issue, do not hesitate to contact one of the leading construction companies in your area.

Construction Costs

To determine the cost of crushed concrete you should know how much material is needed to make one ton of finished concrete. For exterior landscape projects, it is usually not required to buy a truck-load of aggregates. The cost of crushed concrete is less than ten cements together with the labor cost. If you are not purchasing truck-loads of aggregates, the cost of getting the aggregates from the quarrying process will be added. If the company requires to have the aggregates collected by trucks, the cost of labor will also be added in.

To calculate the cost of crushed concrete you need to know the volume of material to be used in the project. To get the volume of material needed calculate the volume of the gravel, sand and topsoil to be used in the project. You need to add four times the volume of the gravel, sand or topsoil to get the total volume of material required. This will get the approximate cost of the project. If the project requires more aggregates then the cost will go up. To avoid cost overshoot calculate the volume of material required at the lowest possible estimate.

Aggregates and Construction Costs

Aggregates include gravel, sand, crushed stone, sandstone, bluestone, topsoil, peat and perlite. These aggregates are used as the raw material for making crushed concrete. There are two main types of aggregates used in concrete like coarse aggregate and fine aggregate. Crayon, chalk, river rock, and perlite are fine aggregates. Fine aggregates are used more in interior as compared to exterior landscaping projects.

There are many factors that affect the cost of crushed concrete. One factor that is usually not taken into consideration is the quality of the aggregates. The average cost of concrete is determined by how much labor it takes to make one cubic yard. By increasing the quality of the aggregate, the average cost of concrete can be reduced.

There are three different types of aggregates used for crushed concrete. They are rock dust, stone dust and sand. The cost of each type of aggregate is calculated by multiplying the weight per cubic yard with the cost of the aggregate. For instance, if the cost of stone dust is two cents per cubic yard and the concrete weight is eight pounds per cubic yard, then the cost of crushed stone will be six cents per cubic yard.

Types of Aggregates

Some concrete companies prefer to use the natural product while some prefer to use the recycled form. However, this is another subject that requires its own separate discussion. Recycled aggregate is more environmentally sound than the natural form but does not have the beauty and texture that natural stone has. On the other hand, natural stone is much more expensive than recycled concrete and a little bit more fragile. The cost of using the recycled type will depend on the weight and size of the concrete piece, as well as on the quality of the recycled product.
